I think 8 days is the longest I have gone without posting since starting this lil’ blog. Life has simply gotten in the way… One reason for my absence, though, is that I have been lacking in the recipe inspiration department. With studying, meetings, visitors, and social stuff, I have been making fall-back meals instead of trying new things.
I have never blogged about it, but I eat almond or some kind of nut butter on a baked sweet potato or winter squash for a snack almost every day. So, so good.
Spicy Ahi Tuna Stir Fry w/ Peanut Sauce
1. Marinate an Ahi tuna steak in a bag with soy sauce, tamari sauce, Braggs amino acids, ginger powder, mustard powder, sriracha, a few drops tabasco, and a dash of cayenne pepper.
2. Stir fry some veggies with sesame or rice oil and the same mixture that you marinated the fish in plus some teriyaki sauce.
3. Grill the ahi for a minute or two on each side and lay on top of the veggies.
4. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and macadamia nuts. If you have some cooked rice on hand, throw that in there too! Top the whole thing with a drizzle of peanut sauce.
Hi Protein, Low Fat Peanut Sauce: 2 tbsp peanut flour, 2 tbsp almond milk, 1 tsp peanut butter, salt (mix well!)
This last week was pretty hectic due to Pace coming to visit. He arrived on Thursday morning in San Francisco. I picked him and we headed back to Davis. I showed him around school and town and we went to see The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest. On Saturday morning, we drove back to San Francisco for FOODBUZZ FEST! I was only able to attend the Tasting Pavilion because that was the only event we were allowed to bring guests to. It was so much fun! I talked to Mimi and Sophia and saw a few other bloggers that I recognized. I was pretty awkward though. Gotta work on that….. It definitely made me feel that I need to put a bit more effort into connecting with other bloggers. With this being one of my new goals, feel free to email or facebook me or whatever anytime!
Back to Foodbuzz. The Tasting Pavilion was impressive. It was a massive room filled with hundreds of bloggers, cameramen from the Food Network, and different vendors giving out samples of their products.
While Pace was visiting, I did make an effort to cook up some different dishes. I will post those recipes next!
